So, life is hard. Life in High School is harder. I hated my High School years for the most part. Up until 4 years ago, I would have said nothing good came out of all my heart ache during those 4 years at good ol' Westwood High.
However, now that I work with youth going through High School, I am finding that, for the first time, I am thankful for all the hardships I endured back then.
Horrible things happened to me and I did horrible things to others and myself. All of which I never dreamed I would be thanking God for until He has allowed me to share my horrors with young girls now and in turn they are being encouraged. They look at my life now and think I have it all together. They want what I have, a loving husband, 3 great kids, a ministry, a house, 3 dogs, a realtionship with the creator of the universe. They find it so reassuring to know that my high school days were pretty much a living hell that God brought me through and that He chose to bless my life in ways I so don't deserve.
I am so thankful, my heart feels as though it might explode. If you happen to be in high school and it is pretty much sucking the life and joy out of you; hang on. Hold on to Jesus, He will bring you through and bring others along side you to help you. All of this will be made beautiful one day, I promise!
